A Weekend in Paris

Well we just returned to Amsterdam from a wonderful weekend in Paris with my parents. It was their first time visiting the city, and the second for Justin and I. We went for the first time last summer, after we were inspired to stop in Paris on our way to China after watching Midnight in Paris, and we loved it so much that we decided to move to Europe! It’s crazy how things work out so well when you just go with your intuition. Anyways, now after seeing Paris again, and this time during the cold winter, I love it even more. It was clear skies all weekend long (although it was very chilly) but we were just glad to get away from Amsterdam’s crappy, depressing weather.┬áIt was also less crowded than what we saw in the summer, so it was the perfect time to visit the museums, eat at the best restaurants, and go up inside the Eiffel Tower. We went up to the second floor, where we froze our butts off! But it was so worth it! We also went on a not so exciting river cruise, but more on that later this week.

Our favorite things that we did in Paris? Visiting the Hemingway Bar in the Ritz, wandering through the garden at the Musee Rodin, and eating fresh baguettes. We ate dinner at the best local restaurants, and stayed in Hotel Garvarni, a green hotel in an awesome location right around the corner from the Eiffel Tower (and cheap, too!).

Basically, we did a lot of smooching (nothing new here), wine drinking (again, same old, same old), delicious food eating (….) and marveling at the gorgeous, gorgeous scenery. We had to leave Rockee at home, as Paris isn’t the most dog friendly city. It’s also a little too busy for me to actually live in, but to visit, it’s my new favorite city. You can expect a lot more posts on Paris, especially our experience at the green hotel and how I’ve realized that I really get the Parisians… they’re really not so snobby!
